Our Learning Framework: Health and Wellbeing
At Peak Sports and Learning, we know that a child’s wellbeing is the foundation for positive relationships, learning, and lifelong success. That’s why our programs are built to support every child’s physical health, emotional development, and mental wellbeing in an inclusive and nurturing environment.
Mentally Healthy Communities – Be You
We proudly partner with Be You, a national mental health initiative that helps us build a mentally healthy community across all our services. Be You supports early learning services and schools to promote positive mental health, resilience, and wellbeing in children and young people.
Our educators work with the Be You framework to:
- Create environments where children feel safe, valued, and included
- Support children to develop emotional literacy and self-regulation skills
- Promote positive relationships between children, families, and educators
- Build a strong sense of identity, connection, and community
We believe in “growing a mentally healthy generation”—and that means empowering children with the tools to understand their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and how to ask for help when needed.

Growth Mindset
Across all Peak programs, we teach and model a growth mindset, helping children understand that learning and development come through effort, curiosity, and persistence. We encourage children to take on challenges, learn from mistakes, and celebrate progress over perfection.
This focus on mindset supports confidence, resilience, and the belief that every child can succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Health, Safety and Life Skills
In addition to our themed term topics, we consistently embed core health and safety education into our program. This includes:
- Nutrition and physical activity education through games and group discussions
- Online safety and personal safety, including resources from the Daniel Morcombe Foundation and cyber-safety education
- Safety Days focused on topics like emergency preparedness, sun safety, hygiene, and safe behaviours
- Practical learning around body autonomy, friendship, and respectful relationships

Support for Children and Families
We recognise that mental health challenges can affect children and families in different ways. That’s why we stay connected to resources like Headspace, which offers support to young people and families around issues such as anxiety, depression, bullying, and relationships.
We encourage open dialogue and work in partnership with families to provide safe, supportive environments that meet each child’s unique needs.
